After Moyes' resignation, Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt will take over as caretaker managers until the end of the season. Giggs is currently a player-assistant under Moyes. Butt is working with the reserve team.
The Glazers have sent chief executive Ed Woodward to work directly with Mr Moyes. Mr Moyes' contract with Man United is for 6 years, so he will be compensated 4 million pounds, which is one year's salary.
One of David Moyes' biggest mistakes when he first arrived at Man United was to completely change his assistants. Experienced assistants Mike Phelan and Rene Meulensteen were sacked and replaced by Steve Round, Jimmy Lumsden and Phil Neville, and as it turned out, the backroom staff were ineffective and did not win the trust of the players. When Moyes was sacked, the future of Chris Woods, the team's goalkeeping coach, was also uncertain.

Will Giggs succeed David Moyes? |
United have not yet officially named a successor to Moyes. According to the British press, Juergen Klopp, the current coach of Dortmund, is the number 1 candidate because he has experience working with young players and is interested in long-term projects. In addition, Louis van Gaal and Diego Simeone are also candidates. Ryan Giggs currently lacks experience so he will most likely only be an assistant. Carlo Ancelotti, the current coach of Real Madrid, is also mentioned.
United's poor form this season means they could miss out on European football for the first time since 1982, despite the Glazers spending £150m on Moyes. United are also in danger of becoming the worst-performing former champions since Blackburn Rovers finished seventh in 1996.
Mr. Moyes not only caused Man United to lose revenue from television rights this season, but also angered fans, directly affecting the number of season tickets sold for next season.
Mr. Moyes was chosen by Sir Alex Ferguson to succeed him, but up until now, when news of his dismissal has appeared frequently, Sir Alex has not given his opinion.
