Former MU player Phil Neville is set to return to MU as assistant to manager David Moyes.

Phil was Everton captain under Moyes. However, with Moyes leaving Goodison Park to take charge of Manchester United, Phil will no longer be an Everton player.

Instead, the Neville brother will become one of Moyes' assistants at United alongside Steve Round, Chris Woods and Robbie Cooke. Phil played 386 games for United before joining Everton in 2005.

Moyes decided to reunite with Phil at MU shortly after Sir Alex Ferguson's close assistant Rene Meulensteen decided to leave Old Trafford. Meulensteen chose to leave MU instead of accepting the youth team coach position.

Previously, MU also parted ways with two other assistants of Sir Alex, Mike Phelan and goalkeeper coach Eric Steele, to create conditions for Moyes to build a new coaching staff.

Neville has just received his UEFA B coaching licence and is a member of Stuart Pearce's England Under-21 coaching staff.
