The report of the Provincial People's Committee shows that: In 2013, despite many difficulties, the world economy was still in a state of crisis, but the import-export turnover of enterprises in the area exceeded 38.2% of the plan, reaching a total turnover of 636 million USD. Of which, the export turnover of goods reached 351 million USD, foreign currency services reached 12.3 million USD, and labor export reached 269.5 million USD.
The main export items are: wood chips reaching 105.8 million USD, cassava products and cassava starch reaching 54.2 million USD, construction materials reaching 44.1 million USD, processed seafood reaching 21.4 million USD, wood of all kinds 17.2 million USD... In 2013, enterprises continued to expand export markets to 64 countries, the main markets are: China, Laos, India, Korea, the United States, Egypt, Hong Kong, Turkey...

Regarding imports: In 2013, there were 103 enterprises participating in import activities with a turnover of 197.8 million USD. The report of the Provincial People's Committee also showed that: there were 27 enterprises exporting from 3 million USD or more. Some typical enterprises are: Thanh Thanh Dat Company Limited, Hoang Thi Loan Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company, Nghe An Import-Export Joint Stock Company, Nghe An Tea Investment and Development Company.
At the conference, a number of sectors presented their achievements, difficulties in the operation process, and recommendations. Comrade Thai Van Hang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the sectors to respond to the enterprises.

Concluding the Conference, Comrade Thai Van Hang praised the efforts of enterprises to overcome difficulties, seek markets, expand export partners for many products, including many products from Nghe An, bringing in a good export turnover for the province. He also proposed solutions to boost exports in the coming time, focusing on promoting production and processing of goods, creating a rich source of export goods and services. In the period of 2013-2020, the province will focus on producing export products such as: textiles, wood products, processed minerals, peanuts, tea, coffee, rubber, and cassava flour. Fresh milk... 2020-2030 period: Expand and develop production for export of goods using highly skilled labor and advanced technology, manufacturing of equipment, electronic components, telephones, processed seafood, ore concentrate... The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted the sectors in planning and developing raw material areas for export, while serving to remove difficulties for businesses.
