Promoting electricity saving in Nghe An enterprises
(Baonghean.vn) - Electricity consumption during the production process is one of the major input costs of enterprises. Therefore, saving energy and reorganizing production to reduce production costs are urgent requirements of enterprises today.
Nam Irrigation Company has a total of 36 pumping stations, each station installs an average of 4 pumps, each pump capacity from 33 - 75 kWh to supply irrigation water to the localities of Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen, Nghi Loc, Vinh City, Cua Lo with over 45,000 hectares. With this system, each year the company has to pay from 9 - 10 billion VND for electricity - a not small cost. Therefore, the company always puts energy saving solutions first.
To save electricity and reduce production costs, when entering the production season, Nam Irrigation Company has planned to calculate in detail each norm, each type of crop, evaluate the number of pumping days and pumping hours to calculate the amount of electricity consumed, from which it will propose optimal electricity saving solutions while still maintaining the amount of water supplied.

Mr. Thai Van Hung - Director of Nam Irrigation Company said: According to the assigned norms, every year the company encourages units to try to reduce 8 - 12% of electricity consumption. Units that perform well or not will have clear reward and punishment mechanisms. In addition, the company also directs to focus on pumping water and operating machines during off-peak hours (from 10pm to 4am) to enjoy low electricity prices.
Regarding the long-term problem of saving electricity, the company is currently upgrading old pumping stations that consume a lot of electricity, replacing them with new generation pumps that consume less electricity. However, up to now, due to the large budget, the company has only been able to upgrade and improve 7 pumping stations.
Hoang Thi Loan Textile Joint Stock Company is a yarn factory with a monthly output of 1,600 tons of yarn (about 19,000 tons/year). To maintain its machinery, the company must consume about 4 million kWh of electricity each month, equivalent to about 7 billion VND in electricity bills. This is the largest electricity consumer in Vinh City.

The issue of energy saving is always the top priority of the company. In particular, the most important thing is to operate production stably, smoothly, without incidents, the spindles (more than 100,000 spindles) always ensure operation. Because if there is a problem during the operation, the whole system will operate incorrectly, causing a large loss of electricity.
Mr. Phan Xuan Hoi - Deputy General Director of Hoang Thi Loan Textile Company said: In addition to maintaining the stable operation of the factory as the most optimal solution, in recent years, the company has gradually replaced old, outdated, and energy-consuming equipment with new equipment that can save electricity. Every year, the company allocates a budget of up to 50 - 60 billion VND to import new technological equipment with higher automation capabilities, increasing productivity while reducing energy consumption.
In addition, the company also conducts propaganda and mobilizes staff and workers to actively practice energy saving measures and use electricity reasonably. Units strictly comply with the set standards.
Through discussion, Mr. Pham Van Nga - Director of Vinh City Electricity said: In Vinh City, there are factories that consume large amounts of electricity such as Hoang Thi Loan Textile Joint Stock Company, Saigon - Nghe Tinh Beer Joint Stock Company; Vinh Plastic Packaging Joint Stock Company, Bac Vinh Industrial Park, supermarkets... To save electricity in production, Vinh City Electricity regularly coordinates with these companies to organize seminars on electricity saving to propose good models and practices, encourage businesses to use electricity in the 3rd shift (off-peak hours) to enjoy low electricity prices...
In the first 7 months of 2018, the amount of electricity saved in industrial production in Vinh City was over 1.2 million kWh, ranking 2nd out of 19 units under Nghe An Electricity.

According to the report, in the first 7 months of 2018, the total electricity consumption in the province was 1,797 million kWh, and the total is estimated to be 3,120 million kWh in 2018. The amount of electricity saved in industrial production was 9,445,574 kWh. In which, localities with enterprises and factories saving a lot of electricity in industrial production such as Quynh Luu (2.6 million kWh), Vinh City (1.2 million kWh), Cua Lo (1.1 million kWh), Anh Son (905 thousand kWh) ...
In recent years, Nghe An Electricity Company has proactively implemented programs to promote electricity saving, encouraging customers to use natural energy devices, devices that consume less electricity but still bring high efficiency through practical actions. Every year, the Company implements programs to promote electricity saving with funds invested by the Electricity industry itself.
In addition, the Company also proactively works with large industrial production customers in the province, coordinating to reduce load when abnormalities occur on the transmission grid system to promptly handle them to ensure safety and regulate electricity in the most effective way.
