Receiving customer feedback on sudden increase in electricity price, Nghe An Electricity Company sent staff directly to check and clarify the customer's request.

On September 4, on his personal Facebook page, Mr. Hoang Van Hien - owner of a car care, repair and maintenance business at 80 Le Nin Street, Vinh Phu Ward, Nghe An Province, reported: His business has just rented a business premises that is in the process of renovation and repair, not yet in operation but the electricity price is unusually high.

Receiving customer feedback, Nghe An Electricity Company sent staff directly to check and clarify the customer's information.

Actual inspection shows: The meter index clearly shows the electricity output at each specific time and day; the meter is not short-circuited due to a fallen tree; there is no phenomenon of electricity being connected from outside. In August 2025, Mr. Hien's store used electricity during peak hours.

It is known that the old customer before Mr. Hien rented this space was a business that used a lot of electricity, so it registered to use 3-phase electricity and installed a meter to sell electricity according to the time of use during the day (normal hours, peak hours and off-peak hours).

When Mr. Hien re-rented this space, he used less electricity, but because he had just re-rented, he still used the old contract and had not yet notified the Electricity industry to request a conversion.

Through discussion, Mr. Hoang Van Hien said: After Nghe An Electricity Company came to inspect the actual situation, clarifying the reason: 500kW is the actual amount of electricity the store used in August 2025 with the amount of 2 million VND - this electricity bill is higher than our other business locations because of the remaining part of the electricity used by the previous owner in the first days of August that has not been paid.

Nghe An Electricity Company officials have explained clearly that our other business locations use electricity from 1,000kW - 1,500kW, and sell electricity at a single meter price for all times of the day. But this new store, the previous owner often used over 2,000kW and registered for a 3-level electricity price, so the electricity price is higher than our other stores.

"Currently, our business uses less than 2,000kW of electricity per month. Therefore, we propose that the Electricity industry support us to re-register and convert from a 3-price meter to a 1-price meter to suit the new business," said Mr. Hoang Van Hien.
