* Quynh Luu district steps up H5N1 prevention
Faced with the complicated developments of the bird flu epidemic, the veterinary sector of Quynh Luu district is directing communes and livestock households to urgently spray chemicals and sprinkle lime around barns to prevent the spread of the disease.
Mr. Phan Van Thang's facility specializing in raising laying ducks and hatching poultry in hamlet 2, Quynh Ba commune is relatively large in scale with about 3,000 laying ducks and hatching 800,000 poultry eggs of all kinds. With the characteristics of the livestock industry and providing breeds for the market, there is a large flow of customers and vehicles coming in and out to buy and sell every day, so Mr. Thang always pays attention to disease prevention and disinfection of the surrounding environment.
In particular, in recent days, the media has reported that the H5N1 avian influenza epidemic is occurring in Dien Chau and Do Luong districts, making Mr. Thang even more worried. To proactively deal with the flu epidemic, Mr. Thang has bought lime powder and spread it evenly around the barns and entrances. At the same time, he contacted the district veterinary agency to inject Bencokic chemicals to disinfect the barns, pond banks, eating utensils, poultry egg trays, incubators, etc.
