(Baonghean.vn) - At the press conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long requested press agencies, journalists, and resident reporters in the province to focus on promoting the implementation of Resolution No. 39 of the Politburo on the development of Nghe An province.
On the morning of October 11, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee held a press conference on the socio-economic, defense and security situation in the third quarter of 2023. Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Ba Hao - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications co-chaired the press conference.

Announcing the socio-economic situation in the first 9 months of 2023, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Nguyen Van Truong said that the GRDP growth rate in the first 9 months is estimated at 6.27%. Agricultural production has been basically stable since the beginning of the year, with good harvests in the Winter-Spring and Summer-Autumn crops, and high productivity and output of many crops.
The industrial production index in September 2023 is estimated to increase by 11.37% over the same period in 2022, and the cumulative increase in the first 9 months is estimated at 4.32%. State budget revenue in the area in September is estimated at 963 billion VND, the cumulative revenue in the first 9 months is estimated at 11,671 billion VND, reaching 73.6% of the estimate and equal to 77.48% over the same period in 2022.
Investment attraction activities have achieved positive results. To date, the province has granted 94 new projects with a total registered investment capital of more than VND 35,680 billion. The total newly granted and increased capital is more than VND 41,905 billion. Compared to the same period in 2022, the number of newly granted projects increased by 13.2%, the total newly registered capital increased by 1.88 times.

FDI attraction continues to be a highlight in the first 9 months of 2023, for the first time Nghe An rose to 6th place out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide with a total newly granted and adjusted capital increase of 1.275 billion USD. To date, Nghe An province has 130 registered projects with a total registered capital of about 3.85 billion USD.
The work of disbursing public investment capital and implementing 3 national target programs has been directed and implemented resolutely. By September 30, the total public investment capital had been disbursed over VND 5,067 billion, reaching 56.09%, of which the concentrated public investment source managed by the province had disbursed over VND 2,537 billion, reaching 45.44% of the plan.
In particular, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 39 on the construction and development of Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045; the Central Party Secretariat organized the dissemination and implementation of Resolution No. 39; the Government issued an Action Program to implement Resolution No. 39. In addition, the Prime Minister approved the Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

The cultural - social and social security sectors have received attention, with policies and regimes fully and promptly implemented. By August 30, the province had received nearly 290 billion VND, and allocated nearly 120 billion VND to implement the Program to mobilize and support the construction and repair of houses for the poor and those in difficult housing circumstances. Administrative reform continues to receive attention and focused direction. National defense, security and social order and safety have been ensured and maintained.
At the press conference, leaders of departments, agencies, and sectors of Vinh City answered 6 opinions and 12 issues raised by press agencies and journalists. The questions revolved around the merger of the University of Economics, the College of Education, and the College of Culture and Arts to establish Nghe An University; joint ventures and partnerships between English centers and schools; and the planning for the construction of the Cua Nam Ward Kindergarten (Vinh City).


In addition, the sectors also responded to the content of the punishment of Chau Tien Company Limited in Nam Cam Industrial Park; handling the situation of wildlife trafficking; the cause of slow development of tourism in the province; handling the situation of commune-level officials and civil servants causing difficulties for people when doing land procedures; the collective work stoppage of workers of Viet Glory Company Limited...
Concluding the press conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long requested press agencies, journalists, and resident reporters in the province to focus on promoting the implementation of Resolution No. 39 of the Politburo on building and developing Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

In addition, press agencies also need to focus on promoting digital transformation, administrative procedure reform; responding to natural disasters; disbursing public investment and 3 national target programs; preventing fires and explosions, ensuring security and order in the area; and celebrating the 55th anniversary of the Truong Bon Victory.
