(Baonghean.vn) -Over the years, the model of "vocational training associated with craft villages" at Duc Phong Company Limited has created jobs for many workers in rural areas, bringing about high economic efficiency.

In 2011 and the first months of 2012, although the economy faced many difficulties, especially in the field of import and export, the working atmosphere at Duc Phong Company was still very urgent. Meeting Mr. Thai Dai Phong - Director of the Company, he happily said: There are still difficulties, but orders for us are still steady. Currently, with about 40 billion in goods this year, the thing we are most worried about is not having workers to work.

Production of rattan and bamboo products for export at Duc Phong Company Limited

As a unit with many years of experience in the field of rattan and bamboo weaving for export, Duc Phong Company Limited annually exports thousands of rattan and bamboo handicraft products. To meet the labor demand, since 2001, the Company has opened hundreds of training classes for over 10,000 workers with a training model where the company supplies raw materials and consumes products for workers. In addition, the Company has established Dong Tam handicraft vocational training center, through which workers in need will be trained and given jobs by the center. In addition, many other vocational training classes are also opened in localities, taught directly by the company's skilled workers.

In these vocational training classes, workers do not have to pay tuition fees, are supported with raw materials and tools, and learn while producing, practicing as they learn. Thanks to being "hands-on", after only one month of training, workers can master their profession. After completing the course, the company provides raw materials and consumes products, workers can rest assured that they do not have to worry about input and output, and do not need capital because the company has fully provided them. Currently, the company pays wages based on products, with a worker earning around 100,000 VND/day. Ms. Huong (Dien Yen commune, Dien Chau) said: Although she has only worked at the company for two years, she has earned over 3 million VND/month, life in the countryside is not expensive so she has been able to save quite a bit.

Not only stopping at vocational training, Duc Phong Company also helps many localities successfully build craft villages. Currently, with 39 export rattan and bamboo weaving craft villages, Dai Phong Company's field of operation spans many districts such as Do Luong, Nghi Loc, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu, Quy Hop, with thousands of workers. For example, in Nghi Thai commune (Nghi Loc), there are 21 hamlets, most of which take export rattan and bamboo weaving as their main and stable income.

Hopefully, through this model of “vocational training associated with craft villages”, the province and many other enterprises will investigate and survey the real needs of workers. On that basis, propose appropriate directions and solutions for vocational training suitable to the living conditions, health, and environment of each locality, avoiding the situation of widespread training but after graduation, workers do not have jobs, causing waste as in many years past.
