On March 14, the provincial working delegation led by comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with Que Phong district and Hua Na Hydropower Joint Stock Company on the construction progress of resettlement sites and Hua Na Hydropower Plant (Que Phong).

(Baonghen.vn) -On March 14, the provincial working delegation led by comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with Que Phong district and Hua Na Hydropower Joint Stock Company on the construction progress of resettlement sites and Hua Na Hydropower Plant (Que Phong).

Also attending were representatives from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Industry and Trade, Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas Committee and the Provincial Border Guard Command.



Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee worked with Hua Na Hydropower Joint Stock Company and Que Phong district.

Hua Na Hydropower Plant has a total investment of nearly 7,000 billion VND, invested by Hua Na Hydropower Joint Stock Company. This is one of the hydropower projects with difficult and complicated construction conditions and has the longest water tunnel among hydropower projects in Vietnam. The plant consists of 2 units with a total capacity of 180MW, each unit has 90MW. Currently, unit 1 has generated electricity and connected to the national grid. With the active participation of the investor, contractor and relevant agencies, it is expected that unit 2 will be connected to the national grid by the end of March 2013.

In the past, to implement the project, 1,362 households in 14 villages in the reservoir area had to be relocated. Resettlement arrangements were carried out at 13 locations, including 3 locations in Tien Phong commune, 4 locations in Dong Van commune and 6 locations in Thong Thu commune. Up to now, the unit has completed and put into use 313 houses out of a total of 332 houses at 13 resettlement locations, of which 8 households have not yet accepted land compensation. Water supply, electricity supply, roads and public works have been basically completed.

After inspecting some resettlement sites such as Muong Hinh, Huoi Duoc, Huoi Man, Khun Na, comrade Le Xuan Dai - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the progress of the construction of the hydropower plant as well as the resettlement. However, currently 8 households have not accepted compensation, which needs to be promptly addressed and resolved. In addition, investors, contractors, and local authorities need to focus on resolving problems during the implementation process, so that the project can be completed on schedule and at the resettlement sites, people can feel secure and stabilize their lives./.
