Chinese Communist Party finalizes list of delegates to attend 18th Congress

The youngest delegate is a female athlete born in 1990.

Press spokesman for the Central Organization Department of the Communist Party of China, Mr. Deng Qingming, said on August 14 that the Communist Party of China has completed the election work and finalized the list of delegates to the upcoming 18th Congress.

Mr. Dang Thanh Minh emphasized that the election of delegates to the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was conducted seriously, strictly, and in accordance with the procedures and requirements set forth in the Party's charter.

More than 4 million grassroots party organizations from April to July introduced and elected a total of 2,270 delegates, representing more than 80 million party members of the Communist Party of China, to attend the 18th National Congress.

It is noteworthy that Mr. Xiao Ruoyu, former Mayor of Beijing, born in 1915, is the oldest delegate, and the youngest delegate is Xiao Liuyang, born in 1990 - a female athlete who just won a gold medal at the London Olympics (UK).

According to the investigation results of the Central Organization Department of the Communist Party of China, up to 97% of party members are satisfied with the results of the election of delegates to the 18th Congress./.
