Comrade Chu The Huyen:To overcome difficulties in implementing the socio-economic development tasks in 2014, the District People's Committee has focused on leading and directing sectors and levels to closely follow the assigned plan targets, proactively implementing and striving to complete the plan. Production value reached 8,631 billion VND. Of which, agricultural production value reached 1,971 billion VND; crop value 1,222 billion VND, livestock 748 billion VND. The rice area for the whole year reached 18,418 hectares, peanuts 3,281 hectares; the rice yield for the whole year is estimated at 63.09 quintals/ha, an increase of 6 quintals/ha... Total food output reached 128,392 tons, of which rice was 115,399 tons, peanuts 8,194 tons. Total herd of buffaloes 5,596, cows 28,118, pigs 70,945, poultry 1.462 million.

The forestry production value is estimated at 20 billion VND; forest protection and development projects have been implemented to ensure progress and quality. The area of ​​newly planted forests is 380 hectares; the forest coverage rate is 24.35%. The fisheries sector has developed stably, reaching 614 billion VND; the aquaculture area is 1,615 hectares; the output of exploited and cultivated aquatic products is over 35,000 tons.

The value of the construction industry for the whole year reached 2,183 billion VND; the district focused on constructing key projects on traffic and Van canal embankment. Despite the capital difficulties, some contractors are still actively constructing, typically Hop Tien Company Limited constructing route 205 connecting from National Highway 7A to Dien Thap, Nhan Thanh (Yen Thanh) route to Chua market, Dien Hanh (Dien Chau), the route to Hon Cau tourist area (Dien Hai). In addition, Phuong Thao Company Limited is implementing the construction of a rescue route in Dien Phu commune, and a traffic route to Dien Thanh tourist area. This company creates stable jobs for 100 workers with a salary of 5 million VND/person/month.

Regarding the production value of industry and handicrafts, there was a stable growth, reaching 1,171.8 billion VND. Some new products grew quite well such as: fish meal, NPK fertilizer, roofing sheets, steel purlins, steel billets, construction steel, galvanized steel boxes... Enterprises in Dien Hong Industrial Cluster (CNN); Thap - Hong - Ky Industrial Cluster continued to produce effectively. During the year, 2 more factories came into operation (producing fertilizer and cooking steel billets), bringing the total number of enterprises going into production and business to 11/25 enterprises approved for investment.

The production value of service industries reached 2,670 billion VND, typically Hai Van Company Limited (Dien Ngoc Commune) invested 300 billion VND to build a residential and commercial service area of ​​over 32 hectares. Currently, the company has invested 25 billion VND to complete a 1-hectare market, solving the previous traffic congestion and environmental pollution. In the field of environmental resource management, it has focused on completing 8,289/9,027 records of all kinds, 30 communes have built landfills and put them into operation. Total budget revenue in the district in 2014 reached 146,589 billion VND.

Regarding new rural construction, the number of communes meeting new rural criteria is increasing. Up to now, 5 communes including Dien My, Dien Thinh, Dien Hong, Dien Thap, Dien Yen have met 19 criteria, 2 communes: Dien Yen and Dien Thanh, are expected to be recognized in early 2015; 2 communes have met 17 criteria; 3 communes have met 16 criteria; 4 communes have met 15 criteria; 6 communes have met 14 criteria; 5 communes have met 13 criteria... Regarding land consolidation and plot exchange according to Directive 08: currently 35/37 communes have completed. After the conversion, continue to direct the application of production models, at the same time expand the production area of ​​model fields (implemented since 2013) in some communes.

The district has also strengthened the direction of building cultural institutions. Up to now, 25/39 communes (64%) have standard cultural and sports institutions. 456/458 hamlets have cultural houses (2 more hamlets in Dien Kim); 270 hamlets have achieved the title of cultural hamlet (an increase of 12 hamlets); 20/39 communes have wireless radio stations; 36 relics have been ranked. The Education sector has achieved the title of excellent advanced unit at the provincial level and this is the 12th consecutive year it has achieved this title. In 2014, a total of 321 students were recognized as excellent students of the province, including 15 first prizes, 65 second prizes, and 114 third prizes. Vocational training, job creation, and labor export have achieved good results, creating new jobs for 3,700 workers in the year, including 850 labor export workers. To achieve these results, the district focuses on directing the improvement of administrative reform efficiency, paying attention to national defense and security work, creating a stable foundation for socio-economic development.

Comrade Chu The Huyen:The district focuses on increasing production capacity, livestock, economic development towards sustainable agricultural and fishery production; increasing the proportion of industry and services, promoting the advantages of socio-economic development of the district. Mobilizing and effectively using resources for development. Continuing to resolutely implement new rural construction; social security and welfare goals, improving people's lives. Strengthening national defense and security, ensuring political stability and social order and safety. Implementing solutions to support and encourage the development of agricultural, forestry and fishery production; creating jobs and income for workers; building production models with high added value. Strive to have from 6 to 8 communes meeting 19 criteria in 2015. Paying attention to directing production development, considering this a key task throughout the implementation of the new rural program.

Develop livestock farming in the direction of concentrated production, ensuring food hygiene and safety. Implement credit policies to build new boats to develop offshore fishing, encourage the implementation of insurance policies to create conditions for fishermen to feel secure when going out to sea to fish, contributing to protecting the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

At the same time, improve the quality and diversify products suitable for the market on the basis of promoting the potential and advantages of the district and effectively mobilizing resources for investment and development.
