To better control overloaded vehicles

(Baonghean) - According to people in many localities, recently there are still some large trucks traveling long distances deliberately avoiding, taking detours and weaving their way, and some small trucks traveling short distances overloaded on inter-village and inter-commune roads, causing these roads to peel and deteriorate very quickly; many trucks have cut off their cargo beds, but when carrying goods, they are still stacked 30 - 40 cm higher than the cargo beds... The above situation is specifically reflected in trucks carrying rocks from Tan Ky, Quy Hop... to Cua Lo Port or to Nghi Son Port (Thanh Hoa), running on provincial and district roads through Nghia Trung commune (Nghia Dan), Nghia Hoan (Tan Ky), Son Thanh (Yen Thanh), Quynh Thang, Quynh Tan (Quynh Luu)...

According to the report of the Department of Transport Inspectorate, the number of overloaded vehicles has decreased significantly and only accounts for about 20% of the number of vehicles inspected. Along with installing weighing stations at checkpoints and mobile weighing stations, the transport sector also directed port management units, customs, border gates, etc. to handle overloaded vehicles at the source, which is the place where goods are loaded and received, but some transport businesses have not yet strictly complied.

According to Decree 107/2014/ND-CP of the Government on management and handling of overloaded vehicles, the detection and handling of overloaded vehicles is the responsibility of the entire population and the entire political system. According to this regulation, in addition to routes with functional forces, inter-commune and inter-village routes, especially routes built by people's contributions, the local authorities and people must be responsible for management and supervision. Localities can coordinate with districts to monitor and handle overloaded vehicles passing through hamlet and commune roads to have measures to reduce and reduce loads... If the contractor carrying out construction works in the area transports heavy materials that affect the people's roads, they must commit or deposit with the authorities after completing the project to maintain and repair the roads for the people...

The regulations are like that, the problem is the active response and participation of businesses to contribute to limiting the rapid deterioration of rural roads, affecting people's lives and local socio-economic development.
