Requesting the police to investigate and clarify the death of the wild elephant
(Baonghean) -Related tothe elephant dieddiscovered by people on March 26 (reported news), Nghe An Forest Protection Department has sent a document requesting the Provincial People's Committee to hand over the case to the police for investigation.
On March 27, after receiving a report from the people, Thanh Chuong Forest Ranger Department and the leaders of Pu Mat National Park went to inspect and concluded that the elephant died at coordinates 48Q0505 555 2082 610, in Lot 1, Section 1, Sub-area 970, within the administrative boundary of Thanh Duc Commune, Thanh Chuong District; and a part managed by Anh Son Forestry Company, 200m from the border between Thanh Chuong and Anh Son districts. The age, weight, time and cause of the elephant's death have not yet been determined.
On March 29, 2011, Nghe An Forest Protection Department sent document No. 129/BC-KL to Nghe An Provincial People's Committee and Nghe An Department of Agriculture and Rural Development reporting on the case of the dead elephant and requesting Nghe An Provincial People's Committee to assign the Provincial Police to direct Thanh Chuong District Police to investigate and clarify the matter.
