Prosecution of beauty queen prostitution brokerage ring proposed
On the afternoon of February 28, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department announced that it had concluded its investigation into the case, requesting the City People's Procuracy to prosecute the suspects involved in the ring of beauty queens, models, and actors selling sex for thousands of dollars.

Among the defendants proposed for prosecution by the City Police Investigation Agency are: Tran Quang Mai (female, also known as Gai em, 42 years old, from Long An, residing in District 3), Le Quang Tuan Anh (also known as Kevin, 25 years old, from Lam Dong, residing in Phu Nhuan District), Vo Thi My Xuan (30 years old, from Can Tho, residing in Go Vap District - Miss Mekong Delta in 2009)... for the act of prostitution brokerage.
According to the investigation conclusion, on June 2, 2012, Ho Chi Minh City Police inspected two hotels in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City and discovered four couples engaging in prostitution. It is noteworthy that these four prostitutes are all people working in the art field, one is a model, an actress, the other is a beauty queen of a beauty contest. Immediately after catching the two groups of prostitutes, PC45 issued a decision to urgently arrest those on the list of prostitution brokers including Quang Mai, My Xuan...
At the investigation agency, the defendants confessed that at noon on June 2, 2012, Mai received a phone call from a man asking for a hot model, famous on the Internet with the stage name JP, to "serve" her and another girl for this man's friend. Mai agreed that model JP would "serve" her for 2,500 USD, the other girl would cost 5 million VND, and the two parties had already paid. Similarly, My Xuan also received a phone call asking for 2 models and beauty queens to "serve", Xuan offered 3,000 USD for the two and "ordered" the two models and beauty queens to go to a hotel to sell sex, but was discovered by PC45.
In addition to the two cases of brokerage caught red-handed, the investigation agency determined that this ring had many times brokered many beauty queens and models to sell sex for prices ranging from a few thousand to tens of thousands of USD.
Some specific cases clarified by the investigation agency are as follows:
In June 2011, Mai asked Tuan Anh to introduce a singer with the stage name KNT to sell sex to customers on a tour in Vung Tau for 2,500 USD, Mai received 1,300 USD.
In March 2012, Mai brokered model TK to sell sex to customers in District 1 for 2,500 USD.
Another time, Mai brokered prostitution for My Xuan right at My Xuan's rented house in District 2 for 2,200 USD...
In addition to selling sex, TK and My Xuan also connected and brokered each other and some other beauty queens, models, and actors to sell sex to "help" their colleagues and receive commissions.
The investigation agency specifically determined: around March 2012, TK and Tran Quang Mai brokered for My Xuan to sell sex to a customer in Vung Tau for 2,500 USD, TK took 1,000 USD as brokerage fee.
Also in March 2012, TK took 18 million VND in “brokerage fee” when introducing a model with the stage name JP to sell sex at a hotel on Nguyen Trai Street, District 1 for 30 million VND.
