For the people of Xop Mat to stabilize soon
(Baonghean) -The Pu Cam landslide in Xop Mat village, Luong Minh commune (Tuong Duong) occurred in June 2011 and continued to recur in May 2012.
Faced with the situation, the Provincial People's Committee has directed Tuong Duong district to urgently evacuate 37 households from the area. The heavy rain that lasted from the evening of July 1 caused a landslide on Pu Cam mountain at Xop Mat village. The heavy rain and steep slope of the mountain caused mud to bury 4 houses, fortunately there were no casualties. Immediately after the landslide, Tuong Duong district inspected the scene, and coordinated with departments and branches of Luong Minh commune to propagate and mobilize, organize to help households relocate to temporary housing, and direct people to build temporary houses on Co Ho slope. On the other hand, the leaders of the district and commune also organized clearing and spraying of pesticides to prevent epidemics for people at the new residence, ensuring security and order, and implementing local socio-economic development.

In order to help people stabilize their lives soon, together with the district to overcome difficulties, the province supported 10 billion VND to build infrastructure for the resettlement area of Xop Mat village. Tuong Duong district has tried, but could not meet the demand for building a new resettlement area in difficult conditions of land and difficult traffic. Therefore, the district is in dire need of support from the State with a specific resettlement project. There needs to be a special mechanism for Xop Mat, so that households can soon move to a new place?!
