(Baonghean.vn)- The Ca River dike system, also known as Ta Lam dike or 'red dike', one of the key projects passing through Thanh Chuong district, is being upgraded and completed before the small flood season.

After 6 months of construction, the upgrade has been basically completed. The investor and the construction unit are committed to implementing the schedule to ensure flood prevention work.
The Ta Lam dike section passing through Thanh Chuong district, passing through 3 communes including Thanh Dong, Thanh Tuong, Thanh Van of Thanh Chuong district, directly protects 102,600 people and 16,300 hectares of residential land, production land and infrastructure system. Due to being built a long time ago, many dike sections have seriously degraded. The synchronous upgrading of the dike to ensure protection against Lam River floods is an urgent requirement, so the Provincial People's Committee has decided to approve the upgrading project and assign the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development as the investor.
The entire route has a total length of more than 7 km, designed on the old dike foundation, the dike surface is 6.5 m wide, the road structure is asphalt concrete and the residential road is 4.5 m wide, the surface is 4.0 m wide, the road structure is concrete.
The focus of the project is to upgrade the riverside dike system, including Cam Thai 1 and 2 dike systems. The rescue route combines construction and operation management. In addition to flood prevention, the project also contributes to improving traffic by upgrading inter-commune roads in Thanh Chuong district, connecting with Do Luong and Nam Dan districts to facilitate the exchange of agricultural products and develop tourism along the Lam river bank.

The project started on October 1, 2016. It is expected that the main items of the dike will be completed to prevent minor floods in May and prevent main floods during the rainy and stormy season.
