I finished the last 5 questions but there were some questions that I was still confused about because there were many strange vocabulary words and I had to consider carefully when choosing the answer.

After 3 exams, I think I got about 24 - 25 points and hope to have enough points to be admitted to block D7 (Math - Chemistry - English) and be admitted to Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics.

The test is of basic spirit, the structure of the test closely follows the structure of the second reference test of the Ministry and students are relatively familiar with this structure.

The grammar section is quite basic and can be done relatively easily by the average student.

Stress and pronunciation are the basic programs in textbooks.

The communication part is also easy to understand at an average level and asks about topics close to daily life and is practiced a lot because it is close to the format of the illustration topic.

The synonyms and antonyms section has some sentences that are not in the textbook.

I think the sentence transformation part is easy for students because the structure of transforming conditional sentences, comparative sentences, direct sentences, indirect sentences, and conditional sentences has been reviewed a lot. The test has 3 questions to find mistakes, related to verbs, logical words, and each type of word, so students also practice a lot.

Differentiate in difficult vocabulary questions. For example, there are idioms, some vocabulary that requires general knowledge and some unfamiliar vocabulary in textbooks that require students to guess the meaning from the context. This can only be done by good and excellent students because they can reason.

Or like the reading comprehension vocabulary section is also difficult even though the reading comprehension topic is close to tourism and education.

With this question, average and studious students can get 4 - 5 points. Good students can get 6 - 7 points, good students can get 8 points. To get 9.4 points or more, students must be good and intelligent.

Although she only expected to get 7.5 points, candidate Nguyen Thi Bao Tram - Vinh University High School for the Gifted - was happy to have completed the last exam. Regarding the English exam, Bao Tram said that it was quite long and the most difficult questions were vocabulary and reading questions because there were many words that Tram had not learned yet. Meanwhile, the questions about structure or grammar were not too difficult and if she studied hard, she could do well.

LIVENghia Dan district, when asked how they evaluated this year's Foreign Language exam, many students said that the exam was relatively easy, not too challenging and followed the textbook program, candidates only needed to grasp the structure and learn a lot of vocabulary to be able to answer many questions in the exam. Commenting on the exam, questions related to grammar only accounted for about 20%. Difficult questions were mainly due to some new vocabulary that students did not know and if they did not have a rich vocabulary, it would be difficult to answer.

Candidate Nguyen Thi Hai Yen, 1/5 High School, said: "The exam tests students' knowledge of phonetics, vocabulary, grammar, and reading and writing skills. The exam has a high level of classification, there are some reading comprehension questions that are difficult to determine the answer, many students in my class can hardly do these questions."

“The classification question is the reading comprehension part, this is the most difficult part and the part that classifies students. I did about 75%. With this question, average students can easily get 5 points and good students can easily get high scores” - said Nguyen Minh Than, Co Do High School.

Candidate Nguyen Thi Thao Nhi, Anh Son 3 High School, a candidate taking the test at Con Cuong test site, commented: "The most difficult part of the English test was the reading comprehension part, but the number of questions of this type was not much. Students with average academic ability can also get a score of 5. I did 75% of the test."

Candidate Nguyen Minh Thai, Con Cuong High School, commented: “The reading comprehension section is too long, consisting of paragraphs. I spent a lot of time on this section because there were many ideas that were too long to read in time and I didn’t understand much. However, I still admit that the test was very good. Besides the common, simple questions, there were also sections that required candidates to have social knowledge to understand and do well on the test.”

Candidate Cao Van Thong, class 12A2, Quy Hop 3 High School, said: “The English exam given by the Ministry of Education and Training is very difficult. I can answer 20/50 questions. The grouping starts from question 30 and up, the high-level application questions.”

As for candidate Ho Hoang Minh, a 12A1 student in the selective class of Quy Hop 1 High School, he was also quite worried and shared: "Although I am a student majoring in block A, I found the test more difficult than last year, very difficult. The difficulty level was differentiated by each question, in the reading passages, the structure was difficult, I did about 60-70%."

Candidate Nguyen Manh Hung, class 12C2, Quy Hop 2 High School, also said, "In my opinion, this year's English test is more difficult than previous years' tests, more difficult than the sample test and also more difficult than the test that the teachers reviewed for me. I only got 30-40%."

Hang said that the English multiple-choice test this afternoon was quite “easy”, similar to the Ministry’s sample test. Thanks to her diligent and “on-point” preparation, she did quite well on the test. Out of 50 multiple-choice questions, she was sure she got 45 of them completely correct, and she circled the remaining questions based on her preferences, not sure yet. She predicted that her test would score 8 or higher. With this score, she hopes to be admitted to Hanoi University of Foreign Languages.

Sharing the same joy with Nguyen Thi Hang, Nguyen Van Ly, a 12th grader in class C6 at Nam Dan 1 High School, said: For me, the English exam this afternoon was quite easy, the first 40 questions were of average difficulty, the next 10 questions gradually increased in difficulty. I did relatively well, at least I got an 8.

“Maybe not only me, but everyone in the room left the exam room happy. It seemed like everyone did the test well,” Ly shared.

Thus, the candidates have completed the 2020 high school graduation exam. In the Foreign Language subject, 52 candidates were absent. The exam took place safely and in accordance with regulations. It is expected that by August 27, the Ministry of Education and Training will simultaneously announce the exam scores.
