During these May days, localities in the province are organizing the 2015 Sen Village Singing Festival, aiming to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the beloved Uncle Ho's birthday. Mr. Nguyen Kim Nam, Director of the District Culture - Information - Sports Center said: The 2015 Sen Village Singing Festival - Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam Folk Songs will take place from May 8 to May 16, divided into 6 clusters. In preparation and orientation for the festival, the Organizing Committee has proactively requested participating units to dedicate 2/3 of the performance time (25 minutes) to Vi and Giam Folk Songs, the remaining performance praising the Party and beloved Uncle Ho must also have the sound of Nghe An Vi and Giam Folk Songs.

The festival was successful in many aspects, especially in the awareness of preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values ​​of our ancestors.

“Without Vi and Giam, the Sen Village Singing Festival would have no vitality” - Artisan Tran Van Tu, Head of the Vi and Giam Singing Club of Kim Lien Ward, Nam Dan District, affirmed. Identifying Vi and Giam folk songs as the “soul” of the Sen Village Singing Festival, Nam Dan District organized training on vocal skills and methods of staging the program with the theme “Songs for People”, focusing on Vi and Giam performances for cultural officials in communes, towns and schools throughout the district.

After 34 times of organization, the influence of the Sen Village Singing Festival is increasingly strong and Vi and Giam folk songs have become an indispensable highlight. Musician Dinh Dac, Deputy Director of the Nghe An Folk Song Conservation Center, said: The Sen Village Singing Festival was born in Kim Lien - the cradle of the fabric village where Uncle Ho's mother, Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan, often lulled Uncle Ho to sleep with soulful lullabies and vi songs. Our Uncle grew up, matured and left to find a way to save the country because of vi and giam songs, "that loving his Fatherland, loving folk songs even more passionately".
