Proposal to use union funds to take care of children of union members and workers
On the morning of October 16, Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation organized a workshop to review and comment on the Draft Law on Trade Unions (amended), the Law on Employment (amended), and the Draft Regulations on Emulation and Rewards.
Attending the workshop were Mr. Tran Nhat Minh - Member of the National Assembly's Law Committee, full-time delegate of the Delegation.National AssemblyNghe An province; Representatives of relevant departments, branches, sectors, Labor Federations of districts, cities, towns, industry unions, affiliated grassroots unions and 13 enterprises with many workers and laborers in the whole province.

After listening to the general introduction of the draft Law, Regulations and discussion orientation, delegates gave their opinions on the organization and management mechanism of trade union cadres, the policy of recruiting union cadres who have grown up from the grassroots, the plan for dividing union funds, the right to proactively supervise the social nature of the union, the time for performing trade union tasks of non-professional trade union cadres, the procedures for joining the Vietnam Trade Union of employees at enterprises, etc.


The conference recorded 13 comments on the draft law and regulations, focusing on 4 groups of issues, mainly related to the Law.Union(amended). The issues that many delegates were interested in and proposed were allowing the use of union funds to take care of children of union members and employees; the time for performing union duties of grassroots union officials; violations of union fund payment; arranging full-time union officials at enterprises with a large number of workers and employees; increasing unemployment benefits; the number and level of rewards in emulation and commendation...
