Proposal to build a 2,000 billion cable-stayed bridge across Lam River
(Baonghean.vn) - Construction Corporation 4 - JSC (Cienco4) has just submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Transport, the People's Committees of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces to the Prime Minister to allow enterprises to act as investors to study and propose investment in the construction of Cua Hoi bridge across Lam river under the form of public-private partnership (PPP).

According to the proposal, the project has a total main route length of about 2.3km, of which the bridge length is about 1,757m with the starting point (km0+00) connecting to Binh Minh road in Nghi Hoa ward, Cua Lo town (Nghe An); the end point connecting to National Highway 8B (provincial road 541) in Xuan Hoi commune, Nghi Xuan district (Ha Tinh).
The scale of the project includes 12m wide approach roads at both ends of the bridge, designed according to the scale of a level III plain road; approach bridge with 31 prestressed reinforced concrete girder spans, span span of 40m; main bridge with 3 spans, main span 270m long, 2 remaining spans each 117m.
Cua Hoi Bridge is designed in the form of a cable-stayed bridge, with 2 cable planes, a width of 4 motor vehicle lanes (4x3.5m), side safety strip (2x0.5m), guardrail (2x0.5m), and cable-stayed anchor structure (2x1.5m).
With a total estimated investment of about 1,985 billion VND, the BOT capital structure of investor Cienco4 for component 1 (main bridge span, project management costs, loan interest and other costs) is estimated at about 1,060 billion VND; budget capital and other capital sources for components 2 and 3 to build intersections, roads, 10 approach bridge spans on Nghe An side, 21 approach bridge spans on Ha Tinh side is about 925 billion VND. The investor plans to build an additional Cua Hoi Bridge Toll Station to collect capital recovery fees with Ben Thuy Toll Station and Ben Thuy 2.
The completion of Cua Hoi Bridge will not only help complete the coastal road through the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh, improve the traffic system on both banks of the Lam River, but also create conditions to promote socio-economic development and ensure national defense and security in the North Central region.
