Hong Son Temple is ready for Hung King's death anniversary

(Baonghean.vn) - An ancient temple with Nguyen Dynasty architecture, Hong Son Temple is known to people across the country as the only temple in Vinh City worshiping Hung Kings - the founders of the country. Today, at this temple, all preparations for the Hung Kings' death anniversary have been carefully prepared. Every year, on the 10th day of the third lunar month, the historical and cultural relic Hong Son Temple joins Hung Temple in Phu Tho to hold the Hung Kings' death anniversary.

Hong Son Temple, formerly known as Vo Mieu; located on land near Vinh market in Hong Son ward, Vinh city, Nghe An province, is a historical - cultural relic ranked at the national level in 1984; the Temple campus is 6,250m2 wide: Including the upper palace, the middle palace built in 1831 - 1837; the lower palace, the left wing, the right wing, the three-entrance gate, the flower column and the crescent lake built in 1910.

To date, Hong Son Temple still preserves the tablets of 18 Hung Kings in the central palace to serve scientific research, spiritual and cultural activities and attractive tourism culture of Nghe An province. At this Temple, there are 3 major festivals every year: Hung King's death anniversary (10th of the 3rd lunar month), Hung Dao Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan's death anniversary (20th of the 8th lunar month) and Holy Mother Lieu Hanh's death anniversary (03rd of the 3rd lunar month).

These days, every Vietnamese person remembers the immortal song: Wherever you go, remember the death anniversary of the Hung Kings on the tenth day of the third lunar month. As a promise, every day on this day, the people of Nghe An gather here to express their respect to the Hung Kings.

Mr. Duong Phong Ba - a veteran of Hong Son ward, Vinh city, confided that although he could not go to Hung Temple in Phu Tho to burn incense for the Hung Kings due to his old age and poor health, every year on the anniversary of the death of the Hung Kings, he and his family went to offer incense at Hong Son Temple.

The Hung Kings' death anniversary at Hong Son Temple is hosted by Vinh City, along with Phu Tho Hung Temple. Thus, the Hung Kings' death anniversary is held simultaneously nationwide. In the North, there are Nam Dinh and Nghe An; in the Central region, there are Hue and Lam Dong; in the South and the Mekong Delta, there are Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh Long, and Can Tho.
