Coming to Dien Bien, in addition to famous historical sites such as Muong Thanh, Him Lam, A1 hill..., visitors cannot miss the place Muong Phang (in Dien Bien district).
In particular, in Muong Phang land, during the Dien Bien Phu Campaign (1954), General Vo Nguyen Giap directed the construction of the army's headquarters - the Dien Bien Phu Campaign Command, to create a historic victory "famous in five continents, shaking the earth."

According to Ms. Minh, Muong Phang relic is located in the Dien Bien Phu historical relic complex, always the center of attraction for domestic and foreign tourists because this is a relic site with great historical significance in the Dien Bien Phu campaign 1953-1954.
The Dien Bien Phu Campaign Headquarters is located in an ancient primeval forest. This place still preserves many historical relics such as the residence and working place of General Vo Nguyen Giap; the residence, working place, and sleeping place of Deputy Chief of the General Staff Hoang Van Thai.
The local people here often affectionately call this forest “the General’s forest,” call the Commander-in-Chief of the Vietnam People’s Army at that time “village elder Vo Nguyen Giap,” and the General’s bunker “village elder Vo Nguyen Giap’s house.” These names have gone down in history and will remain forever in the hearts of the people.
Coming to the Muong Phang Campaign Headquarters Relic, visitors can also visit the outpost guard station, the telegraph operator's sleeping hut, the telephone exchange bunker, the Information Department's working hut, the operations house - the daily meeting place of the Command, the conference hall - where the cadre conferences convened by the Party Committee and the Command took place, Hoang Cam kitchen... all of which have been neatly and cleanly renovated.
In particular, the 96m long tunnel through the mountain, connecting the working hut of General Vo Nguyen Giap to the hut of Deputy Chief of the General Staff Hoang Van Thai, was cleaned and a light bulb system was installed and lit.
Many domestic and foreign tourists, especially veterans, as well as students, came to visit and learn about the historical knowledge of the Muong Phang Campaign Headquarters in the past and the acumen, expertise, and talent of General - Commander-in-Chief of the Vietnam People's Army Vo Nguyen Giap.
Many veterans return here simply to relive the heroic and arduous memories of their youth. Coming to Muong Phang today, visitors can also enjoy the rich natural scenery, cool and fresh climate, and receive the friendly feelings of the local people, as well as learn about the traditional culture of the Thai ethnic group.
