The overall objective of the Domestic Market Development Project, linked to the "Vietnamese People Prioritize Using Vietnamese Goods" campaign in the 2014-2020 period, is to contribute to promoting the production, business, and consumption of Vietnamese goods by focusing resources on boosting market development activities under the name "Proud of Vietnamese Goods," while integrating it into the action programs of ministries, sectors, localities, and units responding to the campaign to create a strong synergistic effect nationwide.
The project focuses on organizing a group of market development activities called "Proud of Vietnamese Goods," striving to ensure that by 2015, 90% of Vietnamese consumers and businesses are aware of the "Vietnamese People Prioritize Using Vietnamese Goods" campaign; by 2020, over 70% are aware of the market development activities called "Proud of Vietnamese Goods"; 100% of provinces, centrally-administered cities, ministries, sectors, and socio-political organizations establish communication channels (radio, television, print, and online) with a dedicated section on "Proud of Vietnamese Goods" to regularly promote the campaign. The goal is to increase the market share of strong Vietnamese goods in distribution channels to over 80% by 2020 and for 100% of provinces and centrally-administered cities to implement the program of establishing permanent and sustainable Vietnamese goods sales points under the name "Proud of Vietnamese Goods." 100% of provinces and centrally-administered cities have organized services to support the connection of supply and demand for producers and businesses of Vietnamese goods...
To achieve the above objectives, the Project proposes four groups of solutions to be implemented, including: Solutions to change the awareness and behavior of the community towards Vietnamese goods; Solutions to support the development of a stable and sustainable distribution system for Vietnamese goods; Solutions to enhance the competitiveness of businesses, cooperatives, and business households in the distribution of Vietnamese goods; and Solutions to improve the effectiveness of market inspection and control and consumer protection.
Specifically, the group of solutions supporting the development of a stable and sustainable distribution system for Vietnamese goods will include building a national-scale connection program (with regional linkages) between manufacturers and businesses with domestic distributors and agents to expand product coverage and increase the presence of Vietnamese goods in the domestic market; strengthening investment in the development of commercial infrastructure to facilitate the expansion of distribution channels for Vietnamese goods in densely populated areas, industrial zones, rural areas, remote areas, border regions, and islands; and perfecting mechanisms and policies to support sustainable sales activities for Vietnamese goods...
Specifically, during the period 2014-2020, this group of solutions will implement four programs: a program to support the construction of a database and update the nationwide distribution network for Vietnamese goods; a program to build a pilot model of Vietnamese goods sales points called "Proud of Vietnamese Goods"; a program to build Vietnamese goods distribution warehouses in rural areas; and a program to strengthen linkages in the sustainable Vietnamese goods supply chain.
The total estimated cost for implementing the project is approximately 228.93 billion VND.
