By August 15, ensure adequate supply of textbooks for Nghe An market
(Baonghean.vn) - This year's textbook market has its own characteristics when there are many textbook sets in circulation at the same time. Therefore, the supply of books is also different for each different set of books.
This is the third year that the Education and Training sector has implemented the change.textbookaccording to the new general education program. Therefore, the textbook market for the new school year has its own characteristics.
Accordingly, for students in grades 5, 9 and 12, they will study according to the current program and this is also the last group of students to study this program.

Meanwhile, students in grades 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 10 will study general textbooks according to the new program.
The remaining grades are grades 4, 8 and 11, students will also learn new books, but these are the first years of implementation, so the supply of books will be slower than other grades.
As a unit providing textbooks in Nghe An province for many years, Mr. Tran Xuan Toan - Director of the Company for Books and School Equipment said: Currently, books for grades 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 have basically met 100% and at this time there is no shortage of textbooks. However, for grades 4, 8 and 11, publishers currently have enough books but printing and distribution is still slow, at present we have only supplied about 70% and are trying to supply enough books to the market in Nghe An by August 15.

This year, Bao Tram - a student at Ha Huy Tap Secondary School, is in the 3rd year of studying the new textbook program, so she is no longer surprised when having to choose many books from different sets at the same time. Currently, Tram has basically chosen enough textbooks for herself. As for some books such as Civic Education exercises and Math exercises, Tram said that the bookstores have not yet supplied them and she plans to return to the stores before the opening day to buy enough books for the new school year.
At some other stores in Vinh city, some business owners also said that textbooks are basically enough. However, with new books such as grades 4, 8, 11, there is still a lack of exercise books, parents can proactively register in advance. As soon as the books are available, the stores will notify or deliver the books to the hands.
According to the statistics of the Company for Books and School Equipment, by August this year, the company had published more than 6.2 million copies of books, including more than 2.9 million copies of textbooks, more than 1.5 million copies of exercise books and more than 1.7 million reference books. The company's representative said that in the past, the company supplied about 60% of the textbook market for Nghe An province. However, this number is now only about 40%.
In addition to the retail channel to consumers at bookstores in Vinh city, Yen Thanh, Quynh Luu, Nghia Dan districts, more than half will be supplied through schools. The remaining books for the Nghe An market belong to a number of other bookstores with many different ways of supplying. However, through understanding, this year, parents and students buying textbooks will receive a 10% discount compared to the price printed on the packaging.

In addition to traditional areas, the supply of textbooks to mountainous districts always receives attention. This year, according to the synthesis of the Company for Books and School Equipment, the number of books ordered by mountainous schools through the unit only reached about 30% instead of 60% as before.
Previously, in many schools in mountainous districts, in order to ensure that there were enough textbooks for students, many schools and teachers proactively ordered books for parents and let parents pay for books. However, it was inevitable that schools would encounter difficulties in collecting money, causing textbook debts to accumulate. At this time, at least 5 mountainous districts still owe about 4 billion VND for textbooks from previous school years.

In the above difficulties, a rather positive figure is that currently, about 30% of students in Nghe An are reusing old books. In the used book market in Vinh city, the closer to the new school year, the more active the need to exchange and buy and sell used books.
The average price for an old textbook for sale ranges from only 1,000 to 5,000 VND/book. Meanwhile, if parents or students want to buy the whole set, it will only cost about 100,000 to 150,000 VND, including reference books and exercise books.

To support disadvantaged students, since the beginning of summer, many organizations and units have donated and supported books for poor students.
In addition to the efforts of philanthropists, this year, publishers through the Department of Education and Training will also donate nearly 3,000 sets of textbooks to disadvantaged students in the districts of Quy Hop, Nghia Dan, Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, Nam Dan, and Tan Ky.

Schools have also proactively connected with former students to donate textbooks to create a source and give books to poor students and students in difficult circumstances...
