(Baonghean) – Although teaching was interrupted for a relatively long time due to the terrible flash flood in the early morning of September 14, after nearly 3 months, teachers and students of Yen Tinh Secondary School have worked together to overcome the loss, make efforts to overcome difficulties, and strive to keep up with the general program.
The historic flood swept away the entire embankment built around the school, leaving only the main gate standing. |
On campus, there are still scattered large tree stumps brought by floodwaters. |
The once solidly built embankment now has only rubble mixed with mud. |
Many classrooms were damaged, most of the students' desks, chairs and school supplies were swept away. |
After the flood, in addition to teachers and students continuing to clean up the environment, the school also proactively arranged make-up classes for students, averaging 2 to 3 sessions per week. |
Old and new flood water stains overlap and are clearly visible on the wall of the dormitory room. |
Principal Nguyen Van Hung said that up to now, the school's students have "caught up" with the national curriculum. |
The joy of returning to school to study and play with friends is evident on every student's face. |
Although the consequences of the flood have not been completely overcome, and learning and teaching conditions are still lacking, teachers and students of Yen Tinh Secondary School are still persistently striving and making every effort to overcome difficulties together. |
