The Guardian has just published a list of 10 roads that drivers should take to experience poetic scenery and great driving feeling, including Vietnam's Hai Van Pass.
The Hai Van Pass became world famous when it was introduced by the world-famous driving show Top Gear Special in 2008. This “Road in the Clouds” – nearly 21km long – winds through the mountains of Vietnam, following the East Sea. Tourists can rent a motorbike or car to cross this route in just one day. And at the top of the pass, you will be rewarded with a priceless gift: looking far away to enjoy the breathtaking natural scenery. As famous car journalist Jeremy Clarkson commented, the Hai Van Pass is truly “a lonely silk strip of perfection – one of the best coastal roads in the world”.
