While herding buffalo, a 4th grade student drowned.

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of June 25, Mr. Tran Doan Hung - Deputy Head of the Flood and Storm Prevention, Search and Rescue Command of Do Luong district said that in Minh Son commune, Do Luong district, a tragic drowning incident had just occurred, killing a 4th grade student.

Previously, at around 2:30 p.m. on June 24, Vo Van Hung (9 years old, 4th grade student, Minh Son primary school, residing in Cat Minh hamlet, Minh Son commune) and 2 friends were herding buffaloes in the Cau Om area when they accidentally fell into the lake. Due to the strong water flow, Hung was drowned. The other two friends saw this and immediately called for help but it was too late.

Upon receiving the news, local authorities and nearly 100 people, including rescue soldiers from the Engineer Corps, Battalion 17 - Division 324 and local youth, coordinated to search for Hung's body. Although the rescue team worked hard, using nets, the strong currents made it difficult to find Hung's body.

At around 1:10 a.m. this morning, June 25, Do Luong District search and rescue team found the body of Vo Van Hung in the lake area near Cau Om, Minh Son Commune. The authorities handed over Hung's body to his family for burial, and agencies and organizations also visited and encouraged Hung's family.

Previously, at around 9:00 a.m. on June 15, Nguyen Van Manh (born 2001) and Le Huu Thong (born 1998), both residing in Hong Phong hamlet, Luu Son commune (Do Luong district), were herding buffalo and bathing in Lam river when both drowned./.
