Couple drowned while picking bamboo shoots
(Baonghean) -According to information from Ky Son district (Nghe An), on the afternoon of September 28, Mr. Nguyen Van Ne and his wife Hoa Y Loi (Khmer ethnic group) residing in Xop Pe village, Muong Tip commune - Ky Son district unfortunately drowned.
The cause was determined to be that the couple swam across the Nam Mo River to go to the forest to collect bamboo shoots, but it was the rainy season, the river water was high and flowing fast, so both were swept away. The bodies of the two people were found the same afternoon the tragic accident occurred. Mr. Ne and Ms. Loi passed away, leaving behind two young sons with no one to care for or raise them.
It is currently the bamboo shoot season, people in mountainous districts often have the habit of going to the forest to collect bamboo shoots to sell or use as food. However, it is also the peak of the rainy season, so we need to be careful of the sudden rise in water levels in rivers and streams, which can affect the safety of people and their lives.
