Going to the pagoda at the beginning of the year is an indispensable activity for every citizen during Tet and Spring. This custom has become a beautiful spiritual culture in the life of every Vietnamese person. However, recently, besides those who go to the pagoda with the desire to find peace of mind and seek beauty, there are also those who go to the pagoda to follow the trend or distort this cultural feature.

From the ignorance of tourists

In the spring atmosphere, in the first days of the new year, many families in traditional long dresses and turbans enter the temple to worship Buddha. However, among the civilized pilgrims, there are still a few people entering the temple with unsightly appearances. They dress strangely as if they were going to a Halloween festival, not to mention many young women wearing thin, see-through shirts with tattered jeans. Although no one forbids them from entering the temple to worship Buddha, many people look at them with fear and lack of sympathy. Buddhist Hoang Thi Luong, who is doing volunteer work at Can Linh Pagoda, said: "For a long time, the temple has thoroughly enforced the dress code for tourists by broadcasting on loudspeakers right at the temple gate, or on billboards, but many tourists still ignore it. Many of us have to go there to whisper to them, but unfortunately they do not cooperate."
