(Baonghean) -With the spirit of helping women form the habit of saving in spending, creating a source of capital to help members in difficulty to develop their family economy, the Women's Association of Hamlet 3, Tien Ky Commune (Tan Ky District) has for many years implemented the movement "Rice Saving Jar" and built a fund in the form of money wards, rice wards...

Ms. Vi Thi Bich, the head of the Women's Association, enthusiastically said: The Women's Association of Hamlet 3 has 50 members, and for many years has always been united and actively participated in all movements organized by the superior association as well as the movements proposed by the association. Since the Party launched the Campaign "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh", the Association has promoted the study of Uncle Ho's virtue of thrift, building a "Rice Saving Jar". After each time measuring rice to cook, each member voluntarily takes out a handful and puts it in their family's rice saving jar. After 3 months, the members bring the saved rice to the Head of the Association.

By 2010, the members proposed that every 3 months each person contribute 1-1.5 kg of rice. After 3 months, the association discussed and agreed to support 1 member who was facing difficulties and hardships in life. Since the establishment of the "Rice Saving Jar", the association has supported 20 members. Ms. La Thi Huong, a member who just received more than 50 kg of rice from the association in the third quarter, was moved and said: "Up until now, each meal the whole family had to reduce by 1 handful of rice, or 1 kg of rice every 3 months was not a big deal. When the family was facing difficulties in life, the sisters cared and supported them with 50 kg of rice, which was a big deal at that time!"

To help members have capital to invest in livestock farming, production, economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, in addition to supporting with “Rice Saving Jars”, Hamlet 3 Association also builds a fund by establishing rice and money wards. 50 members, divided into 3 groups, the groups and wards operate by contributing rice and money to support each other in developing the family economy. For each rice harvest, a member contributes 1 quintal of rice to the ward; for the money ward, every 3 months each member contributes 1 million VND.

The money and rice collected each time, the groups vote for the most disadvantaged member to be drawn, with the purpose of investing capital in developing livestock and production. Each time drawing a ward, the members contribute an additional 50 thousand VND to organize an intimate meal, to arouse the spirit of solidarity in the branch, and also an opportunity for members to give opinions and learn business experiences. Ms. Vi Thi Dat said: "Almost a year ago, I drew a ward of rice and got 1.6 tons, I sold it for money, along with the capital borrowed from the bank, the family invested in livestock and production.

The good thing about the ward group is that the women learn from practical experience. Although the amount of money collected from the ward is not much, by using the "small cat catching small mouse" method, every member uses the capital in a practical and effective way. Thanks to that, the women have income from livestock farming and production to improve their lives and have money to pay the ward in time. Thanks to the spirit of solidarity and mutual support, the Association now has only 10 poor members. The economy is increasingly stable, and the superficial movement is also developing strongly. The Association has a volleyball team, an art team, and every year often achieves many achievements in art and sports competitions organized by the locality...

Ms. Tran Thi Thu - President of the Women's Union of Tien Ky commune, commented: The Women's Union of Hamlet 3 has always been the leading unit in movements from household economic development as well as all superficial movements. Every time a meeting is held, it is always attended and on time, the movement "5 no, 3 clean" of the union is always carried out well!
