"Red address" educates patriotic traditions
On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the birth of General Secretary Le Hong Phong, on September 3, our province solemnly held the inauguration ceremony of the General Secretary Le Hong Phong Memorial Site in Hung Nguyen District and the Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Memorial House in Vinh City. These are two works expressing respect and deep gratitude for the sacrifice and lifelong dedication to the Party and the cause of national liberation of the two comrades Le Hong Phong and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, which are of special significance in educating the revolutionary and patriotic traditions for today's and future generations.

The memorial site of General Secretary Le Hong Phong belongs to the memorial complex of General Secretary Le Hong Phong, located on a beautiful, high, airy land in Dong village, Hung Thong commune, where comrade Le Hong Phong was born and raised. The memorial site was started in December 2009, with a total area of 31,230 m2, a total investment of 35 billion VND, including a memorial house of comrade Le Hong Phong and auxiliary works such as parks, lakes, trees and some other items.

The project was completed and put into use on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of General Secretary Le Hong Phong's birthday, showing respect and deep gratitude for his lifelong sacrifice and dedication to the Party and the cause of national liberation. In addition, in 2006, the Central Party Secretariat announced Conclusion No. 13-TB/TW on allowing the construction of a memorial house for comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai. Based on this announcement, the Provincial People's Committee organized a scientific workshop, selected the location and construction plan, directed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and related departments, branches and sectors to carry out a project to build a memorial house on the land where comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai's family used to live, house No. 132, old Ga Street (now Block 4, Quang Trung Ward, Vinh City).
The project is invested by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism with a total construction cost of nearly 20 billion VND on an area of nearly 2,600 m2, including the main items: memorial house, management and reception house, worship area furniture and other equipment, garden, landscape and auxiliary items. The memorial house is not only for burning incense in memory but also a place to display artifacts and documents about the life and revolutionary career of comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai. After a period of active implementation, the memorial house project was built to ensure quality, completed on schedule on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the birth of General Secretary Le Hong Phong - comrade and life partner of comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai.
The inauguration ceremony of the General Secretary Le Hong Phong Memorial Site and the Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Memorial House is an event of great significance, not only for the families and clans of comrades Le Hong Phong and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, for the Party Committee and people of Nghe An, but also for the pride of the entire Vietnamese nation. In Nghe An, there are two more historical, cultural and spiritual sites for tourists to visit. And on the day of the inauguration ceremony, many delegations from the Central Government, provinces, and thousands of people from all over the country came to attend, offer incense and flowers, visit, view the photo exhibition of the lives and careers of the two heroes, commemorate and express their deep gratitude to the two heroes.
Mr. Le Van Thong, 60 years old, nephew of General Secretary Le Hong Phong confided: “In front of the great contributions of Mr. Le Hong Phong and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, our Party and State have had many forms of honor such as naming constructions, streets, schools. And the long-standing wish of the entire Party Committee and people of our province in general as well as the families of both sides of Mr. Le Hong Phong and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Khai to have a spacious and beautiful memorial house and memorial area to show gratitude has come true. With the scale and value of the memorial house and memorial area, I believe that this is not only of great value in scientific research, patriotic education but also a relic serving the cultural and tourism needs of Hung Nguyen district in particular, Nghe An province in general”…
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, comrade Phan Dinh Trac, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation affirmed: The memorial house of comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai and the memorial area of General Secretary Le Hong Phong are national historical and cultural works, of special significance in educating revolutionary traditions, patriotism, and cultural traditions for today's and future generations; are cultural and spiritual addresses for people and tourists to visit, commemorate, and show gratitude. Nghe An province will do a good job of caring for, protecting, and promoting the value of the works so that this place will forever be a red address of Vietnamese revolutionary heroism.
