(Baonghean.vn) - According to the warning issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) on May 26, "the path to completely eradicating the Ebola epidemic will still face many fluctuations". Mr. Bruce Aylward - Assistant Director General of WHO expected the above dengue fever epidemic to last at least until the end of 2015.

In the WHO report, Mr. Bruce stated, “There is no reason to think that we cannot defeat Ebola, but lack of funding is increasingly becoming a potential reason for failure to prevent the epidemic.”

To date, of the three African countries most affected by the Ebola epidemic, only Liberia has been declared free of the disease on May 9. The remaining two countries, Guinea and Sierra Leone, continue to fight Ebola and are trying to achieve the goal of recording no new cases of the virus. However, a problem that is being raised at this time is the lack of funding for international aid as well as the return of the rainy season, increasing the risk of an outbreak.

Since its discovery in 1976, the Ebola epidemic has returned starting in December 2013 in southern Guinea. Due to the rapid and strong spread in Africa, WHO was forced to declare a global health emergency on August 8, 2014. And the latest WHO report also said that the above epidemic has claimed the lives of 11,132 people out of a total of 27,000 infected people.
