In the WHO report, Mr. Bruce stated, “There is no reason to think that we cannot defeat Ebola, but lack of funding is increasingly becoming a potential reason for failure to prevent the epidemic.”

To date, of the three African countries most affected by the Ebola epidemic, only Liberia has been declared free of the disease on May 9. The remaining two countries, Guinea and Sierra Leone, continue to fight Ebola and are trying to achieve the goal of recording no new cases of the virus.
