Wedding Party Company Owner's Clothing Sharing Service
Instead of stopping at the success of the first model, Ms. Nguyen Ha Doan chose to "take profit" and continue to build a new model of sharing clothes.
Having graduated from a foreign language teacher training school, Nguyen Ha Doan has never stood on the podium and has chosen her own path. Right after graduating, Doan applied for a marketing position and gradually became the Marketing Director for a phone company with a high income.
When things reached a point where Doan felt no longer interested, she chose to start a business by founding a website providing wedding decoration services. After 3 years of building and developing, the brand was at the top of the wedding decoration industry in Vietnam, chosen by many customers. However, that was also the time when Doan wanted to "fight" a new challenge, so she decided to sell the brand at an attractive price.

“The business model at that time was running quite smoothly, with good revenue and profits. Customers had started to come to us. However, I am someone who always wants to challenge myself, so I decided to switch to a new model,” said the businesswoman, adding that she was very fond of the sharing business model that has been popular in the world in recent years. The idea of a “shared wardrobe” under the brand name Dream Dress was therefore born by her at the end of 2015.
Based on her own experience of having a lot of clothes that she only wore once or twice and shared with friends and colleagues when they didn't need them, Doan thought that if more people like her knew how to share with others, in addition to joy, they would also have more income without wasting their assets.
Investing about 2 billion VND, the businesswoman's service allows women to share their clothes and designs on the website for people with similar interests to experience. She herself, as a service provider, also had to invest nearly 800 dresses, clothes and about 200 accompanying accessories for female customers.
"They are all new and branded. The rental price is one-fifth or one-sixth of the purchase price, ranging from 0.2-2 million VND per dress or gown," Ms. Doan shared.
All products are “uploaded” to the website for customers to view and choose. For models shared by individuals, customers only need to register for a rental account, Ms. Doan’s staff will contact to check if the product is new and suitable, negotiate the price and take pictures of the product.
The lessor will receive 50% of the rental fee, the money is transferred to the account at the end of each month. In addition, to ensure transparency, the lessor can also see the customers' orders right on the system.
On the contrary, if customers have a need, they can choose online and the products will be delivered - received - collected at home by staff. The fee for trying on clothes at home is 100,000 VND for 3 sets, and if they choose to rent a set and are not satisfied after trying it on, the customer only has to pay 15,000 VND for the staff to deliver it.
“Currently, office workers are the ones who choose to rent the products the most. Because the model is quite new, the number of customers is not much, each month this website only has about 100 customers placing orders. However, I will try my best to make my products reach consumers with satisfaction,” Ms. Doan confided and said.In the near future, there are plans to expand to men's and children's clothing. At the same time, the service will also be expanded nationwide instead of just targeting Ho Chi Minh City as it is now.
