On June 29, most local exam boards began marking multiple-choice tests and also completed checking, marking, numbering, and discussing answers for the Literature exam.

In Ha Tinh province, the provincial examination board is scanning multiple-choice test papers for all subjects. Nearly 200 examiners, even security guards, must gather at locations designated by the Ha Tinh Department of Education and Training.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duc, Head of the Examination and Quality Control Department of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh province, said: “On June 28, the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh province directed the marking of multiple-choice tests and the preparation of essay tests. As for marking, on the morning of June 30, a meeting was held with leaders and heads of the essay marking team. In the afternoon, all the marking staff met and thoroughly understood the regulations, learned the scoring sheets, and then marked a number of papers together. Now, the marking implementation will probably take about 4 to 5 days to complete. After that, the Department will start reviewing to ensure that the Ministry's schedule of announcing the results is met on July 11.”

In Phu Tho province, the exam marking work is also being urgently carried out by the provincial Exam Marking Board. Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuong, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Phu Tho province, said: On June 30, the Exam Marking Board will open, then start marking the Literature subject, conduct general marking, and mass marking. All work is being carried out seriously in accordance with the regulations.

This year, Phu Tho province had more than 13,500 candidates participating in the national high school exam, an increase of more than 1,400 compared to last year. To complete the exam on time as set by the Ministry of Education and Training, the education sector advised the province to invest in additional scanning machines to mark multiple-choice subjects.

“For the examination board of Phu Tho province, 2 teams were established. For the staff handling the multiple-choice test, 17 managers and teachers were selected to participate, and for the group marking the essay test in literature, 99 teachers were mobilized to mark, with the number of test papers being 13,511. For the multiple-choice test, this year there will be an increase of 1,400 candidates, Phu Tho will add another scanner, so there will be 3 scanners to mark multiple-choice tests. With this progress, it will be guaranteed according to the expected time of July 8,” said Mr. Minh Tuong.

In order to ensure objective, fair and honest exam results, throughout the exam marking process, the Ministry of Education and Training requires exam marking sites in 63 provinces and cities to closely monitor the exam marking process in accordance with regulations and procedures; at the same time, inspection teams will be sent to exam marking sites to inspect and supervise.

Mr. Mai Van Trinh, Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training, noted: "The Literature exam requires all staff to be completely isolated from the outside, just like when printing and copying exam papers. During the process of marking essay papers, two papers must be marked independently.

Each round is in a different room; at the same time, a minimum of 5% must be checked along with the progress of round 1 and round 2. If there is any discrepancy, it must be corrected promptly and the discrepancies in round 1 and round 2 when marking are clearly stated in the regulations.

This year, please note that the exam papers are rounded to two decimal places. As for the marking of objective multiple-choice exams, the marking is done by machine from the moment the seal is determined to be opened for counting and then scanning until this end is counted and sealed on the spot.
