With the loan capital under the support policy of Decree 67/CP, fishermen in Dien Chau district have invested in building large boats with large engines to go offshore. Seafood fishing has therefore increased dramatically compared to last year. Up to now, the total number of offshore fishing boats has reached 241 (including 3 boats with over 820CV), an increase of 70.92% compared to 2016.
The whole district has 1,515 fishing boats, with a total capacity of 105,156 CV, an increase of 8.6% in the number of boats and 75.26% in capacity compared to the same period. Therefore, the output from the beginning of 2017 to November increased much higher than the same period and exceeded the yearly plan.
