Dien Chau: Train accident

(Baonghean.vn) - On the way from a mountainous commune to the plains to sell melons, a woman was hit by a train and her motorbike, dragging 100 meters at a civilian crossing.

The above mentioned railway accident occurred at 6:05 a.m. on May 9 at the level crossing at km 267 of the National Highway 1A (Dien Truong commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An).

The motorbike was shot 100 meters away at the scene.

At the above time, the unified train number SE20 (traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi) was passing through the above mentioned level crossing at a speed of 80km/h when it suddenly hit a woman who was driving a motorbike across the level crossing. The high-speed collision caused both the victim and the motorbike with license plate 37H5 4916 to be dragged under the train and "released" 100 meters away, at km 267 +400. Immediately, the train made an emergency stop and together with Yen Ly station organized first aid for the victim in a very critical condition. The identity of the unfortunate woman is Nguyen Thi Yen (born in 1986, residing in Quynh Tam commune, Quynh Luu district).

It is known that the above-mentioned level crossing is a "black spot" where fatal accidents occur every year, despite having adequate warning signs.
