Dien Chau focuses on preventing the spread of avian influenza A/H5N6.

(Baonghean.vn) - Dien Chau district is focusing on preventing and controlling the A/H5N6 avian influenza outbreak in communes bordering the outbreak area.

Recently, Dien Hong commune (Dien Chau district) had to destroy all 1,185 chickens infected with the A/H5N6 avian influenza virus. Therefore, the prevention and control of avian influenza in Dien Hong commune and neighboring communes is very important.

The district set up two quarantine checkpoints to prevent the transportation of poultry in and out of Dien Hong commune, carried out disinfection and sterilization throughout the entire commune, and administered 20,000 doses of vaccine to the total poultry population in Dien Hong.

GrandfatherDang Thanh Ba – Head of the Veterinary Department of Dien Yen – received 2100 doses of vaccine from the Veterinary Station to vaccinate poultry flocks in the hamlets bordering Dien Hong.

Dien Chau district is focusing on disease prevention in neighboring communes of Dien Hong, namely Dien Ky, Dien Yen, Dien Van, and Dien Thap. The public address systems in these communes broadcast urgent directives from the District People's Committee four times a day regarding the disease situation and prevention measures, and are carrying out disinfection and lime spreading in livestock areas.

The Dien Chau Veterinary Station has deployed staff to these areas and has provided 22,000 doses of vaccine to hamlets bordering Dien Hong commune for ring vaccination. Thanks to these decisive measures, after a week of outbreaks in Dien Hong, Dien Chau has not reported any new outbreaks.
