Dien Chau: Train hits truck and flies into field

(Baonghean.vn) -While driving a truck carrying clams through a residential road, the engine died, the truck was hit by a train, and the truck flew into the field.

The railway traffic accident occurred at 4:00 a.m. this morning (May 15) at km 275 + 00, on the Thong Nhat railway in Dien Hong commune, Dien Chau district (Nghe An).

According to truck driver Dau Duc Thai (born in 1984, permanent resident of Quynh Van commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An), at the time, he was driving a truck with license plate 37C 02010 from National Highway 1A, turning onto a residential road and the railway to go to Dien Thap commune to dump materials when the truck suddenly stalled on the railway. In a split second, with a very close distance to the train, Mr. Thai jumped out of the truck cabin just as the unified train number SE3, traveling from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, was approaching. The high-speed head-on collision pushed the truck into a field about 50 meters from the front of the train and it was completely crushed.

Although the car driver escaped, the accident slowed down a series of North-South Unification trains and freight trains. It was not until 5:23 a.m. that normal railway traffic was restored.
