Dien Chau: Truck hits motorbike, father dies, son injured

(Baonghean.vn) - A father and son were riding a motorbike in front when suddenly a truck came from behind and hit them. The accident left one person dead.

The incident occurred at around 4:45 p.m. on June 18 on National Highway 48, passing through Hamlet 16, Dien Yen Commune, Dien Chau District (Nghe An).

Accordingly, at the above time, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoan (60 years old), residing in Hamlet 5, Dien My Commune, Dien Chau District (Nghe An), was driving a motorbike with license plate 37B1 - 605.37 carrying his father, Mr. Nguyen Van Cam (80 years old), from his home along National Highway 48 to Dien Lam Commune, Dien Chau District.

When arriving at the above location, a Howo truck with license plate 37C -145.21 from behind crashed into the motorbike. The collision caused Mr. Cam sitting in the back to be run over by the wheel and died. Mr. Hoan was thrown to the side of the road and luckily only suffered skin abrasions.

After causing the accident, the car accelerated and fled about 500 meters from the scene before being stopped by local people and handed over to local police.
