Northern Power conducts rescue drills in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - Northern Electricity organized a drill with the assumption that a level 12 storm would hit Nghe An, damaging a series of power systems.
On the afternoon of March 30, the Northern Power Corporation held a meeting to deploy a plan for natural disaster prevention and search and rescue drills, incident handling; management work to ensure safety for people and equipment, and handling incidents of the Corporation-level telecommunications system in 2018 in Nghe An.

According to Mr. Le Minh Tuan - Deputy General Director of Northern Electricity, the hypothetical situation is that a strong storm of level 10, gusting to level 12, makes landfall in Nghe An province. The storm center is Nghi Loc district and Cua Lo town. The storm will cause heavy rain, strong winds accompanied by thunder and lightning, causing many trees to fall on the power lines, damaging a series of wires and breaking the lightning protection wire and optical cable of the 110kV line from Hung Dong commune, Vinh city to Cua Lo town.

With a large volume of work, large loads, and important power supply characteristics, to quickly fix the problem, restore the line connection soon, and ensure power supply to customers; the Corporation has directed the operation management units to mobilize human resources from other high-voltage grid branches and contractors to participate in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. Nghe An Electricity mobilized human resources from Vinh and Hung Nguyen Electricity to participate in supporting the recovery work.

The exercise will take place tomorrow morning (March 31) in Hung Nguyen, Nghi Loc districts and Cua Lo town.
In order for the drill to achieve high results, the departments: Safety, Engineering, Information Technology, Northern High Voltage Grid Company, Nghe An Electricity Company and Vietnam Electricity Construction Joint Stock Corporation, Power Development Project Management Board... must have close coordination in the proposed drill plan. Minimize the time and scope of power outages as well as ensure absolute safety for people and equipment during the drill.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Northern Power Company directed that during the implementation process, units must fully implement from the stages of establishing and approving construction organization plans and safety measures, issuing work tickets, work orders, registering power outages, handing over and returning grids, etc. to shorten the power outage time and ensure safety during the drill./.
