Solar power - effective saving solution
(Baonghean.vn) - People using solar power not only reduce monthly electricity costs and can sell excess electricity, but also contribute to saving energy and protecting the environment.
Why do people increasingly "prefer" solar power?
Mr. Le Van Quang in Ha Huy Tap ward, Vinh city has invested in a rooftop solar power system for nearly 3 months now; with 15 solar panels of 330 W/panel (equivalent to 5kw), a current converter and grid connection (inverter); allowing solar power to be connected to the national grid.
He said: “Currently, on average, my house’s rooftop solar power system generates about 25kwh of electricity per day, enough to run the electrical appliances in the house; there is also surplus electricity, which is sent by “smart devices” to the state grid and sold back to EVN. Thanks to that, my house saves more than 1 million VND in electricity bills every month and the time to recover the investment in the grid-connected solar power system is also quite fast.”

Using a solar power system is a solution to save maximum electricity bills for manufacturing businesses like Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thinh's family in Vinh Tan Ward, Vinh City. Previously, he had to pay nearly 10 million VND per month, but now the electricity bill has dropped to only 3-4 million VND.
"My family has a mechanical workshop with many types of machines for production, so the amount of electricity consumed is always high. However, thanks to investing in solar power, we have saved up to 60-70% of the cost. During peak times, the workshop also does not experience power outages due to overloading the national grid, and there is no need to worry about increasing electricity prices..." - Mr. Thinh said.
Excess electricity can be sold
According to regulations of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, electricity from rooftop solar power projects will be purchased at the State price prescribed in Circular 05/2019/TT-BTC dated March 11, 2019 amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circular No. 16/2017/TT-BCT dated September 12, 2017 of the Minister of Industry and Trade regulating project development and the model Power Purchase Agreement applicable to solar power projects.
Accordingly, the regulation on the electricity purchase price of rooftop solar power projects applied in 2019 is 2,134 VND/kWh. From 2020 and the following years, the electricity purchase price is calculated based on the exchange rate difference of each specific year.

According to HEKINAN Joint Stock Company - a company specializing in importing, distributing, installing, maintaining and servicing solar energy equipment, in the first quarter of 2019 alone, the number of customers of the company reached nearly 3,000 people.
Mr. Pham Huu Truyen - Deputy Director of the company commented: "The State's support policies for people who need to install solar battery systems, as well as the practical benefits of this "smart electricity system", on the other hand, the recent high electricity prices are the basic reasons for the sudden increase in the number of customers of our company. Especially, with the summer approaching, the demand for electricity is higher, and the number of customers is forecast to increase even more".
