Chinese phones have spyware
German cybersecurity company G Data has just announced that the Star N9500 - a low-cost Android smartphone manufactured in China - has spyware installed that can steal users' information.
G Data said that after receiving many complaints from smartphone users, they researched and discovered that this product was pre-installed with Usupay.D, a dangerous Trojan spyware. According to G Data, this is the first case they discovered Trojan software installed on a mobile product.

During the testing phase, G Data discovered that this malware sent a lot of information to a server in China, but G Data still did not have enough solid evidence to confirm its Chinese origin, nor was it clear how this Trojan software was installed on smartphones.
This software can also remotely control many features of the smartphone, including activating the camera, and is installed in the Firmware so it is very difficult to remove from the phone.
Currently, the N9500 is one of the most popular low-cost smartphones on the retail site Amazon.co.uk, priced at around 3 million VND for the 5-inch version and around 4.3 million VND for the 5.7-inch version. G Data Company has been unable to contact the manufacturer of this dangerous smartphone.
