Actor sets record for most 'in and out of jail' on Vietnamese television

Danh Thai works at the Vietnam Tuong Theater but is known to many people through his roles as gangsters, criminals, and those who go in and out of prison. The actor has appeared in many prime time films on VTV such as:The Judge, Life and Death, Girls in the City, Taste of Love, Village Street, Mind Game...Even though the character he plays has no name or the audience doesn't remember Danh Thai's name, it can be said that this is the male actor who holds the record for "being in and out of prison the most" on Vietnamese television.

Danh Thai shared that because his face is very angular, when he plays a role, his expression is completely different from real life, so he is often assigned villain roles.

The actor recounted one time when he was acting in a debt collection scene, Danh Thai's co-star was so scared that he couldn't act when he saw him playing the role of a debt collector while in reality he spoke very gently. He confided that when he got into character, Danh Thai became the character and no longer himself.

Danh Thai is all too familiar with being handcuffed and escorted by police on film.

Danh Thai started acting in 1993, and has been acting for 30 years now, but most of his roles have been small roles on television. Danh Thai recalls that when the program was broadcast, his uncle's brother came to his house to inform his father:The Thai robber was sentenced to death.The actor's father was so scared that he called his son to ask if it was true. Danh Thai said many people who watched the show thought it was real.
