Train fares for the Thong Nhat train will be adjusted starting June 1st.
On May 22, representatives from Hanoi Railway Station announced that they will adjust the fares for Thong Nhat trains and local trains on the southern route starting June 1.
Accordingly, the lowest fare for the Thong Nhat train is 577,000 VND (hard seat, Hanoi - Saigon, train TN1), and the highest fare is 1,990,000 VND (air-conditioned soft sleeper, Hanoi - Saigon, train SE3). Ticket prices for all types have increased by 3% to 10% compared to the summer of 2012.

From June 1st, the Thong Nhat trains and local trains on the southern route will also have changes in departure times. Specifically, Train SE1 from Hanoi and Train SE2 from Saigon will depart at 7 PM, arriving in Saigon and Hanoi at 3:45 AM. Train SE3 will depart from Hanoi at 11 PM and arrive in Saigon at 4:30 AM; Train SE4 will depart from Saigon at 11 PM and arrive in Hanoi at 4:30 AM. Train SE5 will depart from Hanoi at 9 AM, arrive in Nha Trang at 11:13 AM, and arrive in Saigon at 6:37 PM; Train SE6 will depart from Saigon at 9 AM, arrive in Nha Trang at 4:30 PM, and arrive in Hanoi at 7:26 PM… Ms. Phung Thi Ly Ha advised that some changes to passenger train schedules should be noted: from June 1st, in the morning in Hanoi, only two Thong Nhat trains will run: SE7 at 6:15 AM and SE5 at 9 AM; In the afternoon, there is one train, TN1, running at 13:15, and subsequent trains do not depart until 19:00.
Furthermore, to meet the increased travel demand during the summer, from June 13th to July 21st, the Hanoi Railway Passenger Transport Company will operate an additional pair of high-quality passenger trains, SE23/24 (Hanoi - Hue route). Train SE23 departs Hanoi at 8:05 PM and arrives in Hue at 9:49 AM, while train SE24 departs Hue at 2:00 PM and arrives in Hanoi at 5:30 AM.
