It features the warm, resonant Nghệ An accent, innocent smiles, the bustling rhythm of city life and markets, the gentle lapping of waves, the awakening sound of temple bells, the melodies of folk songs, and traditional musical instruments… And of course, it wouldn't be complete without its culinary treasure trove, including many tempting "royal" dishes and a diverse menu of street food.

This tourism promotional product goes beyond simply conveying images, information, and sound; it also makes people want to watch it repeatedly, and want to be in Nghe An province to witness and experience it firsthand. This is precisely the biggest goal that Ms. Ngo Thi Tra Giang – Deputy Head of the Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center of Nghe An – hoped for when commissioning Vietpictures to produce it.

Ms. Giang shared: “As someone passionate about travel, I believe a successful TV commercial is one that sparks curiosity and a desire in anyone who watches it to visit the location featured in the clip. After much deliberation, I decided to advise the center's leadership to invest a significant amount of money in creating this product. After the idea was approved, I chose a production company specializing in Vietnamese tourism videos for VTV, headquartered in Hanoi. Their previous productions were truly outstanding, and that excellence and professionalism were further demonstrated with their work on the product “Nghe An – A Land of Legends.” Based on our ideas and wishes, they created a product that we were extremely satisfied with, requiring almost no adjustments. From then on, we continued to stay connected to create future projects.”

To reiterate, Ms. Giang still vividly remembers the emotions she felt when sharing about the lovely and beautiful aspects of the TV commercial she helped create. This product has been promoted and screened in numerous domestic and international travel forums. It was even approved by Vietnam Airlines, the national airline, to be broadcast for 30 minutes on their flights.

Although completed in 2021, the data from the TV commercial "Nghe An - Land of Legends" continues its mission of promoting Nghe An tourism at trade fairs, tourism conferences, etc. Most recently, permission was sought for the clip to be used in the SpaceStamp startup project of young people from Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

The success of "Nghe An - Land of Legends" stems not only from the inherent values ​​of Nghe An, but also from the people who directly created it - a "Dream team".

"Dream Team" and their second home

The person directly in charge of producing the TV commercial "Nghe An - A Land of Legends" is Nguyen Phuong Nhien, a girl from Bac Ninh born in 1993, currently an editor in the documentary film department, Special Topics - Science and Education Division, Vietnam Television. Nhien has a special connection with Nghe An, as if that land had chosen her from the very first days she arrived in Hanoi to study at university.

“I’ve had a special affection for Nghe An since I was a student. Back then, my boarding house was full of people from Nghe An – they were all kind, friendly, and always ready to help me in life. After graduating from university and having the opportunity to work at Vietpictures, my connection with Nghe An continued to be woven through business trips and filming. Every trip was lovely and memorable. Many times, we were on ‘spontaneous assignments,’ without a plan, just going into people’s homes to film, but each time we received a warm and enthusiastic welcome. Nowhere else are the people so kind and lovely. My husband – who has made many TV commercials for Nghe An – also loves Nghe An as if it were his second home. He even said that if he were born again, he would want to be born in Nghe An.”

Therefore, for Nhien, "Nghe An - The Land of Legends" is not simply a promotional product, but also a journey of accumulating deep feelings, knowledge, and experiences about this land. The product is the "sweet fruit" of three official filming trips conducted over many months, along with a wealth of materials accumulated from more than 20 previous trips. The entire team meticulously crafted each frame, utilizing their experiences and doing their best.

“Every time I watch the footage we shot in Nghe An back then, my eyes well up with tears. Not only because it’s beautiful and lovely, but also because it reminds me of how we lived our lives to the fullest for our passion and work. We eagerly traveled from Hanoi to Quynh Luu overnight and rushed straight to the beach to capture the sunrise. Cameraman Vu Quang Nam was willing to stay up all night for a few precious seconds of time-lapse, Hoang Linh was always dedicated and ready to go the extra mile, and the MC didn’t hesitate to film a swimming scene in the middle of winter without a single complaint… I had an amazing ‘dream team’ to create a product I’m proud of,” Nhien shared.

The success of "Nghe An - Land of Legends" owes a great deal to the contribution of its presenter and experience-teller, Daniel Jones, a "Westerner" from England. He shared his memories of making the introductory video.tourismIn Nghe An, Daniel shared: “It was my first time in Nghe An, and it was also the first central province I visited after four years in Vietnam. Like everyone else, I was particularly impressed with the people of Nghe An; they are kind, friendly, caring, and willing to share. The beautiful scenery and food are also wonderful things that made me fall in love with Nghe An. Along the way, there were so many beautiful sights that we often had to stop to take pictures, so the travel time increased significantly, and the phone and camera batteries ran out very quickly.”

Considering Nghe An to be like a miniature Vietnam with diverse experiences, Daniel affirmed: "Nghe An is one of the reasons that makes me even more certain about my decision to spend the rest of my life in Vietnam."
