Investigation into the death of 5 workers in a fish sauce mine

The incident occurred at around 11:00 a.m. on January 12 at the fish sauce production line of Food Tech Joint Stock Company - Phu Yen Branch, Hoa Hiep Industrial Park.

A work accident that killed five workers on the spot occurred at noon on January 12 at Hoa Hiep Industrial Park, Hoa Hiep Bac Commune, Dong Hoa District, Phu Yen Province. In the immediate future, each family of the deceased will receive 45 million VND in support for funeral expenses.

The incident occurred at around 11am on January 12 at the fish sauce production line of Food Tech Joint Stock Company - Phu Yen Branch, in Hoa Hiep Industrial Park, Dong Hoa District. At first, a worker went down to the fish sauce production line to check the protein level but did not see this person come up, so the workers went down to rescue him one by one, but all died.

The identities of the five victims who died in the fish sauce pit include: Huynh Van Ne, 22 years old, residing in Phu Hiep 3 quarter, Hoa Hiep Trung town; Nguyen Van Vinh, 50 years old, residing in quarter 2, Hoa Vinh town; Ho Viet Nguyen, 35 years old, in Phuoc Binh Bac village, Hoa Thanh commune; Le Thanh, 29 years old, in Phuoc Lam village, Hoa Hiep Bac commune, all in Dong Hoa district, Phu Yen province and Mr. Siriphong PhiuPhuKhieo, 46 ​​years old, Thai nationality.

Immediately after the incident, leaders of Phu Yen province and Dong Hoa district People's Committee along with functional forces were present at the scene to handle the incident.

Mr. Nguyen Phat, Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Phu Yen province, said that on the afternoon of January 12, leaders of Phu Yen province visited, encouraged and supported the families of the deceased victims.

The police are currently conducting an autopsy to determine the cause. The company will initially support each family with 40 million VND. The provincial Labor Federation will visit and support 5 million VND.

"After investigating the work accident, we will continue to address policy issues. As for the cause, the police are investigating and will announce it later," said Mr. Phat.

It is known that Food Tech Joint Stock Company - Phu Yen Branch is a 100% Thai-owned enterprise, specializing in the production of seafood products.
