According to British scientists, over the past three decades, breast cancer diagnosis and treatment have made remarkable progress, and millions of breast cancer patients have been saved thanks to the application of specialized treatment methods based on the characteristics of each patient's condition.

Professor Justin Stebbing, of Imperial College London, said they had seen dramatic changes in breast cancer treatment over the past few decades.

While the hormone Tamoxifen is effective for 70% of breast cancer cases and has become the main method of treatment for women in the premenopausal stage, the hormone Anastrozole is the choice for women entering menopause.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), with better care, the rate of people surviving more than five years after being diagnosed with breast cancer is hovering around 80% in developed Western countries. While this rate is only 40% in poor countries.

Over the past 20 years, survival rates with more specialized treatments have doubled. Every year, hundreds of thousands of women worldwide are saved from breast cancer.

Breast cancer remains the leading cause of death for women aged 20 to 59 worldwide. According to WHO data, the disease claims the lives of more than 500,000 women each year./.
