Helicopters sent to Truong Sa to rescue fishermen in distress

While fishing in the waters of Truong Sa archipelago, three fishermen from Ly Son island district (Quang Ngai) had an accident, one died, the other two were rescued by Truong Sa soldiers.

After receiving treatment from Song Tu Tay Island (Truong Sa archipelago) military medical staff, on the morning of March 15, Captain Le Phan (50 years old) and fisherman Mai Van Hoa (20 years old) were transferred by helicopter to Ho Chi Minh City by the Navy Command for further emergency care and treatment.

According to the victim’s family, in the early morning of March 14, due to negligence while fishing in the Truong Sa sea area, fisherman Le Van Thanh died on the spot. Captain Phan and fisherman Hoa were seriously injured.


Seeing the two victims losing a lot of blood, Song Tu Tay island staff provided first aid and volunteered to donate blood to temporarily save the two people from critical condition.
