The Hanoi Department of Transport has announced the revocation of the business license and temporary suspension of Sao Viet bus company whose vehicle caused the tragic accident in Lao Cai. So how will passengers who have booked seats, bought tickets, and sent goods get home?

According to information announced by the Hanoi Department of Transport, this unit has decided to revoke the transport business license and temporarily suspend the operations of Sao Viet bus company, Hanoi branch, for investigation.

People's travel needs on the Hanoi - Lao Cai route will be disrupted after the tragic accident.

Previously, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang also directed the Department of Transport of Lao Cai and Hanoi to temporarily revoke the license of Minh Thanh Phat Company (headquartered in Lao Cai), owner of Sao Viet car company, to investigate and clarify the cause of the accident.

According to the leader of the Hanoi Department of Transport, the Sao Viet vehicle involved in the accident showed signs of violating business conditions, seriously affecting service quality and transportation safety when it ran off the assigned route and carried 53 people (including the driver), while the vehicle was designed to have 46 beds and 1 seat.

Normally, on holidays, there will be a certain number of passengers buying round-trip tickets, or calling to book tickets to go back. So, when the Hanoi Department of Transport suspends the operation of Sao Viet bus company, how the passengers' rights will be resolved, the authorities at both ends of the route have not yet announced specifically. Currently, on forums, people have spoken out about resolving the need to travel and send goods on the Hanoi - Lao Cai route.

According to the leader of My Dinh Bus Station, currently Sao Viet bus company has 5 buses running the My Dinh - Lao Cai route every day. And in fact, the total number of buses of this company running on contract and fixed forms is about 17. Sao Viet is one of 6 bus companies with buses running the My Dinh - Lao Cai route. Thus, the suspension of the bus company will affect a large number of passengers. "The Department and the business will have a plan, when the Department has a plan, the bus company will comply to resolve the rights of passengers" - said the leader of My Dinh Bus Station.

Regarding the detail that the vehicle that caused the accident did not have a bus at My Dinh Bus Station but still picked up passengers from here to Lao Cai, Mr. Nguyen Phi Thanh, Deputy Director of My Dinh Bus Station, said: “The vehicle that caused the accident had a complete application to run to increase passenger clearance on the occasion of September 2nd, which was licensed by the Department of Transport. The vehicle was given a route stamp to increase the number of passengers per trip. At 5:30 p.m. on August 30th, the vehicle was licensed to enter My Dinh Bus Station to clear passengers, the vehicle was loaded with 45 seats and completed the increase order at 5:00 a.m. on August 31st. Thus, the increase order from My Dinh Bus Station - Lao Cai Bus Station of the accident vehicle was completed, where the vehicle went after that is the business's management right and the business must be responsible for its management”.

According to information from Giadinh.net.vn electronic newspaper reporters from Ha Son transport company and other companies with buses running the Hanoi - Lao Cai route, during the holidays, most of the sleeper bus beds are full. Thus, to meet the travel needs of the people, the authorities at both ends of the Hanoi - Lao Cai route need to have a plan and announce the plan to ensure the travel needs of the people.
