On the afternoon of April 17, the Inspection Committee of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee announced that it had issued a decision to suspend the Party activities of three leaders of Binh Duong Production - Import - Export Corporation (3/2 Corporation). These three people have just been prosecuted for criminal liability related to the case of "Violating regulations on management and use of State assets causing loss and waste".

The decision to suspend party activities was issued for Mr. Nguyen Van Minh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of 3/2 Corporation; Mr. Tran Nguyen Vu - General Director of 3/2 Corporation and Mr. Huynh Thanh Hai - Member of the Party Executive Committee of the Provincial Agencies and Enterprises Bloc, Chairman of the Board of Members and General Director of Binh Duong Investment and Project Management Company Limited.
Previously, on April 7, the Investigation Police Agency of Binh Duong Province Police issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Mr. Nguyen Van Minh and Mr. Tran Nguyen Vu to investigate the crime of "Violating regulations on management and use of State assets causing loss and waste". Mr. Huynh Thanh Hai was also prosecuted for the same crime but was released on bail.

The behavior of the 3 defendants is said to have violated the management and use of the 43-hectare land in Hoa Phu Ward, Thu Dau Mot City. The Investigation Police Agency - Binh Duong Provincial Police determined that the above land is a State asset assigned to the 3/2 Corporation to implement the Tan Phu Urban - Trade - Service project located in the Binh Duong Urban - Trade - Service Complex.
During the management process, 3/2 Corporation transferred 43 hectares of land to Tan Phu Construction Investment Company Limited (a joint venture co-founded by 3/2 Corporation) in violation of regulations on price appraisal and without auctioning as prescribed; the parties agreed on a transfer price lower than the land price list regulated by the People's Committee of Binh Duong province at that time, causing a loss of 126.8 billion VND./.
